Does anyone have the clinical definition of alcoholism?

My father is an alcoholic, but I think it is a problem drinker. Every time something goes wrong or there is stress, it's time Miller himself and is taken as a form of "deal" with it. I think it's a problem with alcohol. I told him that and his answer was "no what experts say. "Is there a professional and concise definition for drinking" problem "over there?
